Frequently Asked Questions
Everything schools ask before signing up.
Is there really just one plan?
Yes. $229/month includes up to 10 aircraft. Each additional aircraft is $15/month. Every school gets every feature. No tiers, no feature gates, no upsells.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. 30 days, full access, no credit card required. Bring your real data — we don't want you evaluating on fake scenarios.
Are there annual contracts?
No. Month-to-month. Cancel anytime. We earn your business every month.
What counts as an active aircraft?
Any aircraft or simulator not in 'retired' status. If you ground a plane for a month, it still counts. If you permanently retire it, it doesn't.
Do you charge per user?
No. Unlimited staff, instructors, and students on every plan.
What payment processing fees apply?
Standard Stripe rates (2.9% + $0.30 for cards, lower for ACH). We add zero markup.
Can I import my data from Flight Schedule Pro?
Yes. The standard path is CSV: export students, instructors, and aircraft from FSP and our wizard auto-maps the columns — preview matched data before committing. If your school pays for FSP's API module, you can paste your API key for a one-click pull of students, instructors, aircraft, bookings, maintenance, and squawks (no exporting required); most schools don't have this module, so CSV is the standard. Either way, most schools switch in a day. White-glove migration available for $500.
Can I import from Flight Circle or other systems?
We support CSV import for students, aircraft, and instructors from any system. If the export format is different, we help with column mapping.
Is my data portable?
Yes. Export everything at any time via CSV or API. Your data is yours. We never hold it hostage.
Do you support Part 141 schools?
Yes. We support both Part 61 and Part 141. Build courses with stages and lessons, grade per-lesson completions, sign off stage completions, and graduate students — reduced FAA minimums (e.g. Private 35h vs 40h) apply automatically once a student graduates from a 141 course matching their target certificate. Chief, assistant chief, and check instructor flags supported.
Do you have a mobile app?
The student portal and instructor view are fully mobile-responsive — no download required, works in any modern browser. Native Android and iOS apps are coming soon.
Do you integrate with QuickBooks?
Yes. OAuth-connected. Invoices, payments, refunds, and customers sync automatically. Instructor hours export for payroll. No double-entry. Available to all customers — no upgrade needed.
How does maintenance tracking work?
Set Hobbs, tach, or calendar-based due items per aircraft. When an aircraft hits its threshold or a grounding squawk is filed, it automatically pulls off the schedule. Complete the work, return to service.
How secure is my data?
Very. Your school's data is sealed off from every other school's. Sensitive documents like driver's licenses and passports are individually encrypted. Every person sees only what their role allows. Every change is permanently logged. Payments can't double-charge. And the whole thing is monitored around the clock — full details on our Security page.
Can students book themselves?
Yes. Students get their own portal with availability filtering, lesson type selection, and booking — all validated by the rules engine. No more phone calls.
What happens when a flight is completed?
One action triggers: flight session record, aircraft Hobbs/tach update, maintenance re-evaluation, squawk creation (if any), invoice generation, payment attempt, logbook entry, audit log, email/SMS notifications, and MyFlightbook export (if connected). All automatic.
Is the AI assistant included?
Two tiers. The in-product Help Chatbot — grounded in our help articles and FAQ — is free for every customer. Right Seat (full read access to your live data, write actions behind a confirmation gate, daily 6 AM briefing) is an optional add-on, billed separately. Pricing is being calibrated against early-access usage. See /features/right-seat.
Can Right Seat change my data?
Not on its own. Right Seat proposes write actions (cancel a booking, ground a plane, send a notification) by returning a structured preview — the user must click Confirm before the change actually executes. There is no setting to grant the agent direct write authority; the confirmation gate is enforced in code, not just the UI. Every confirmed action lands in your audit log alongside staff actions.
